The kind of software engineers we currently need

We need two Java SE/EE seasoned software engineers to work with us on several BFS (build from scratch) web applications.

• intelligent in algorithm design
• proficient in data structures
• creative in problem solving
• multi-seasoned in server-side software engineering and development languages, components and IDEs
• experienced in designing BFS heavy-duty web applications covering all stages of SDLC
• capable in evaluating and assessing development tools (languages, servers, APIs...) for our of our new BFS applications
• efficient and reliable in holding their own ends, yet...
• work harmoniously in a relatively small team of software engineers who are working on unprecedented, multilingual, bidirectional web applications
• competent, passionate and excited when transforming UML designs into efficient, executable code

Start date is in September 2010.

Required experience and skill

• BSc or a higher degree in computer science or related disciplines with full flavor of software development
• Very strong web application programming skills with 3+ years of industry experience with proficiency in:
  • Java SE/EE 6
  • OOA, OOD, OOP of BFS web apps
  • Back-end design, development tools and APIs in general
  • ORM with JPA 2
  • EJB 3.0 and higher
  • SQL and EJBQL
  • Servlets, JSPs, JSFs and relevant APIs such as Icefaces, Richfaces...
  • Design using UML, design patterns and a clear, modular N-Tier approach
  • Server-side deployment, testing, fine-tuning and QA of web applications

Desired experience and skills

Ideal candidates have experience and skills in:

• Swing UI with applet technology
• Building internationalized, bidirectional web applications
• Netbeans IDE with CVS or equivalent tools, or
• Eclipse IDE with CVS or equivalent tools
• Multi-threaded applications
• Testing experience with application installation on multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Mac...)
• Proficiency in Arabic (or languages scripted with Arabic-alphabets) is needed since most of our products are multilingual with English/French/... on the LTR side, and Arabic/Urdu/... on the RTL side

Nice to have experience and skills

Ideal candidates have working knowledge and skills in:

• Experience with Javascript, JQuery, Mootools, AJAX, CSS, HTML and variants, Web 2.0
• Ability to hack and tweak GUI related APIs to suit different languages and different layouts
• Experience with Flex and/or Flash, or other graphic design tools
• Ability to tailor front-end of web applications to render seamlessly on different browsers (Chrome, IE, Safari, Firefox, Opera...)
